The brown she-cat looked up sharply. "Who's there?" At least she had enough sense to whisper back.

"It's me, Darkclaw! We need to talk!"

When the time came, Gorsefoot's trap had all been set. He sat down, licking a bit of Foxfang's blood from his claws and waited for her to arrive.

"Darkclaw!"

Gorsefoot looked towards the hushed meow and saw Goldenpath running towards him. He stood up, his tail gently waving to her. She stopped in front of him, panting. "Wh-what did you need to talk about, sweetie?"

"I...I was wondering about...you know, your old mate..."

Goldenpath's eyes widened and she looked sick. "G-G-Gorsefoot? He...he wasn't......completely sane..."

"I know. I just wanted you to know...I still love you."

Goldenpath looked up and her eyes widened even more. Her tail bushed up and her pelt bristled. "...G-G-Gorsefoot? Is that really you?"

Gorsefoot nodded and smiled. "I'm so sorry for what I did...It wasn't right..."

"How do I know that you really are Gorsefoot?"

"How's our little Hawky?"

"It is you!" She leaped to his side and nuzzled her face into his shoulder.

(brb for maybe 30 minutes.)

She groaned and reluctantly obeyed the order, praying that she wouldn't die.
