Curious about what the tom's plan was, he didn't move much and spat out the dirt that was kicked up by Nighttalon. He whipped his tail to force the flames to jump out and graze Nighttalon's exposed wounds.}

_{Lostwhisker tried to let out a hiss but Nighttalon's kick made him bite down on his own tongue. The kick made his jaw drop down, he felt as though his jaw shattered from Nighttalon's strength. Blood pooled in his mouth. While the tom bit his foreleg, he took his front paw and ran it along the top of his head and down his eyes.}

Nighttalon felt his hind legs go numb. No problem. He'd heard of cats fighting with just their front paws before. Using his front paws, he dragged himself over to where a half-burnt, slightly sharpened stick lay on the ground. Grabbing the stick with his jaws, he twisted so that he was able to look up at Lostwhisker. He felt the warrior's claws dig into his neck as he twisted, and he thought he heard a couple of cracks and pops, but he didn't care. His eyes blazed as he jerked his head forward, aiming the sharp end of the stick towards Lostwhisker's throat.}

_{Lostwhisker choked and stumbled off of Nighttalon into the flames and the fire engulfed him out of view. He healed himself but the pain was peeling at him.}

She was about to make another desperate attempt when she heard Rainfall's voice.

"Oh, come on Iceleaf! Pick up the pace!" She was running and soon stopped near Flameclaw.

"I'm… trying," the white cat whimpered. She soon collapsed to the ground in front of Rainfall.

The blue-gray cat shook her head. "Tsk. You'll never be leader at this rate."

"Why weren't you a leader then?" she muttered.

Instead of answering, she turned to Flameclaw and Ripplejaw. "Poor posture, terrible aim, horrendous swimming skills, and not to mention rude! But, she has potential." To Iceleaf she mewed, "We'll meet again later or tomorrow." She padded away after giving Ripplejaw a triumphant smirk.

Iceleaf, still on the ground, hissed at Flameclaw. "I hate you."

She purred. "Flattery will get you no where."

"That wasn't a compliment."

"To me it was."

Ripplejaw wove through the trees before scrambling up a rather tall tree. He crouched on one of the branches, hidden completely in shadow.
